Today we updated YAMS2. You will notice a drastic change in the interface (If not, hit refresh a few times). The goal is to make YAMS look as close as possible to our forthcoming portal and I think you will find that it matches very well.
Beyond the interface, this update brings general bug fixes and enhancements, mostly under the hood. If any of you were avid fans of the "Saved Search" feature in the original YAMS, you will be happy to see it has returned.
With this version we will also be able to sync with Google and allow users to login to desktop services such as Google Talk or Gmail through Outlook/Mail clients (if enabled for the organization). Users wanting to utilize the desktop services will have to login to YAMS2 and change their password first, then wait until the next day. Please let me know if you have questions about this change.
Please help me with the final testing on this version over the next week. Barring any major issues, I would like to put this out to the world by the end of next week. This would then be the version we use going into the fall semester.
Thanks! Have a good weekend.
